Health Benefit Deductions 9./16/16
Upon review of my 1st pay stub yesterday, I observed that the deductions for health benefit coverage were exactly the same as last year. This confused me because with the switch to the state plan, I believed that my contributions would go down. Something did not seem correct. Honestly I am not sure by how much they should go down, but I was sure that I should see a difference.
I then reached out to Ms. Kimberly Mangum at the Board Office. She is looking into my situation.
I believe that there are other members that are experiencing this issue as well, or maybe having another concern.
Therefore, anyone that has an issue or concern regarding their health benefit deductions or coverage should do the same.
Members are advised to email Ms. Mangum with their question and/or concern.
Please be sure to be specific in the email as to your question.
Also before sending the email you are advised to check out your pay stub from last year and compare it to this week’s stub. If you do not know where your stub is from last year you can get access to that on WinCap as well.
In addition, the IEA is still waiting on information and details regarding the fund and procedures for submitting claims for reimbursement. As soon as we know, you will be informed.
If you have any additional questions or concerns please let us know.
Yours in solidarity
